Quality Control Inspector

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform visual and dimensional inspections on sheet metal parts, weldments, and assemblies.
Verify materials, cut sizes, hole locations, bends, and overall dimensions against engineering drawings and work orders.
Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, angle finders, and other precision instruments.
Identify defects such as scratches, dents, warping, or improper forming and report non-conformances.
Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records and documentation.
Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues quickly.
Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry codes.
Assist in continuous improvement of quality procedures and best practices on the shop floor.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or training in manufacturing or quality is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection in a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency with common inspection tools and gauges.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry into QMS or ERP systems).
Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
Forklift certification or experience handling metal parts safely.
